Town of Elizabeth
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize and honor the countless individuals who selflessly invest in the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, every community member can effect positive change with a volunteer action no matter how big or small; and
WHEREAS, the Town is committed to encouraging volunteerism and national service among its employees, citizens, partners, businesses and organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Elizabeth relies on volunteers for many programs that are a service and benefit to the community;
WHEREAS, each year a special week is designated in our nation for the dual purpose of recognizing those who give of themselves and of encouraging all citizens to become involved in volunteer work; and it is fitting at this time that we say "thank you" to all individuals, groups, and businesses who have given time, energy, and resources to their communities through volunteer service.
NOW, THEREFORE do I, Megan Vasquez, Mayor of the Town of Elizabeth, hereby proclaim April 12 through April 24, 2022, to be:
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
in the Town of Elizabeth and encourage all citizens to observe this week by celebrating the important work that volunteers do every day throughout our community.
