New Police Chief Selected

The Elizabeth Board of Trustees is proud to announce that Interim Police Chief, Jeff Engel, has been selected to take over the duties as Chief of Police.  Chief Engel was selected with the assistance of Lynn Johnson and Jerry Williams with the firm of KRW Associates from a total of 23 highly qualified candidates from across Colorado and the United States. Jeff has over 33 years of experience in law enforcement and has served most recently as the Interim Chief of Police in Elizabeth.  Jeff has held the positions of police officer, deputy sheriff, sergeant, lieutenant, and chief of police.  Jeff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Science from the University of Wisconsin, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Concordia University, a Certified Professional Public Manager’s Certificate from the University of Colorado-Denver, and he is a graduate of the FBI Command College.  Please join the Trustees and the Elizabeth Police Department in welcoming Jeff to our community.
