Calling all High School Students!
The Elizabeth Police Department hosts an annual student police academy where high school students from Elizabeth High School, Kiowa High School, Elbert High School, Simla High School, and homeschooled high school students, have the opportunity to learn about policing.
Topics include firearms range, driving course, less-lethal instruction, use of force simulator, and many more! This is not just a classroom-based program. Students will have hands-on training, and will even receive the First Aid/CPR/AED card at the conclusion of the class.
EPD's student academy typically starts the last week of May and runs for a full week, Monday through Friday.
Food and drinks are provided to the students, and parents are encouraged to attend as well.
There is no cost to the students for this academy as it is fully funded by the Town of Elizabeth and several generous donors.
