LOCATION:  The project consists of approximately 5 miles of multi-use trail section that would extend through the community.   The conceptual trail alignment begins east of Casey Jones Park, extending south to County Road 136 and north to Elizabeth High School. 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The trail is planned to be a 10-foot wide section with turf shoulders.   Trail segments would consist of either concrete or crushed fines.

SCHEDULE:  The project is currently in the design stage.  Design and construction of the trails would be completed in multiple phases.  Construction on the first two phases is anticipated to begin fall of 2018 with completion by fall of 2019.  The first phase of trail would proceed from Elizabeth Park and Recreation, extending west across Running Creek with a new pedestrian bridge.   The trail would then extend south under South Highway 86 to Maple Street, connecting into Main Street through Spruce Street.  The completion dates of the remaining phases have not yet been determined and will depend on funding.  


FUNDING:  The project has several local/state funding sources and would be administered by CDOT.
