Livestock/Domestic Animals The Horse, Livestock and Animal ordinance has been adopted by the Town. There are a number of items that you should be aware of and a short summery of the ordinance is as follows: · If you have more than three (3) dogs, a private kennel license is required along with all dogs being licensed. · If you have eight (8) or more dogs, or if you are breeding dogs, a commercial kennel license is required and must go through a Use by Special Review process. · If you currently have a horse on your property, but the property is less than 20,000 square feet, or you have more than one (1) horse, you must register your horse(s) with the Town. · If you have more than one (1) horse on your property and your property is less than two (2) acres in size, you need a Use by Special Review permit. · If you have livestock on your property and the property is less than two (2) acres in size, you must register your animal(s) and must go through the Use by Special Review Process. Assistance, service or therapy animals are exempt from any numerical limitations on animals as defined in the Town’s code.
